Gay Spring Break - Destination Key West, Florida

Spring Break is a way for all College to unwind after a long year of studies. This includes all students, male students, female students and gay students. This should not be a segregated topic but some students feel like they would have a better time if they were surrounded by students who were just like them. So we have put together a short list of places to stay and things to do in Key West, Florida for Spring Break.

Let’s start with hotels; there is a place in Key West that has been called the Best Gay Men’s resort in the World. This is called Island House for Men. This hotel has deluxe hotel accommodations with a health club, café and bar. This hotel has a heated pool and 2 Jacuzzis. Another great hotel for gay men is the Lighthouse Court; this hotel is located next to the Ernest Hemingway Home and Light House Museum. It is also located next to Duval Street, which has the best gay clubs in Key West.

There are also some great restaurants in Key West such as the Seven Fish, Bagatelle, Conch Republic Seafood and Blue Haven Restaurant. Once you have had a great dinner in a great city, there are plenty of gay clubs in the city of Key West. Some of the best clubs are the 801 Bourbon Bar, Aqua Nightclub and Bobby’s Monkey Bar just to name a few.

Key West, Florida is one of the most popular spring break destinations for gay students as it is for straight students. While these clubs and hotels that specialize in gay guest, it is still sad when students can’t just have a spring break where everyone can have a good time without fearing something could happen. This is especially true when drinking is involved.

For students who wish to attend spring break and stay with the rest of their friends and class, there are so many great hotels where you can stay, the Gardens Hotel, Palms Hotel, Doubletree Grand Key Resort and the Radisson Hotel Key West. Key West is one of the most beautiful cities in Florida. There are so many great hotels, restaurants and clubs to see. The advice that we offer for spring breakers would be the same for gay spring breakers, always travel with friends, never leave a club alone or with someone that you don’t know and always keep your cell phone charged and with you at all times.
