    If you are a first year college student and you don’t have a lot of money to spend on things then the Student Advantage Card may be just what you are looking for. For those students who do not know what the Student Advantage Card is, it is a discount card that works in conjunction with many Colleges, Universities and Campus Organizations. The card is designed to help students save money on items that they need to buy on Campus and all across the United States and even online.

    You can either buy a card or renew your card on the Student Advantage website. If you are buying a card for the first time then you will have to fill out some information online. You will need your name, email address, your graduation month and school. There are some schools that are not eligible, so fill out the school name and if it is not listed then click on the link. Then you will add your address so they can ship your card out. Once this information is filled out then you will make your payment and confirm your order.

    Students can save up to 50% on some of the best brand out there. Some of the participating companies that can help your student save are Amtrak, Greyhound for travel needs. Some online stores are Target, Macy’s and AllPosters.com. Pearle Vision, drugstore.com and beauty.com are just some of companies that students can save. Check the Student Advantage website and see what other companies can help save you money.

    Is this card really a great saver on products, while the company claims that you can receive up to 50% off, there are some products were you may only receive a small percentage off of things. Every penny that we save is a penny earned but if we have to pay for the card then you have to get the same savings and then some in order for the card to be profitable. Parents are eligible for discounts too; they can receive 10% off a purchase at Target online or 15% on 1800 FLOWERS.com.

    We all know that College students don’t have a lot of money while they are attending school. As parents we want to teach our kids that using their credit cards isn’t always the answer. They will end up with more debt that before and soon they will end up with student loans and credit card debt before they are 21 years old. These discount cards can be helpful to students who need to buy necessities for school. The cards should not be used for when students just want to buy things for the sake of buying.

    Keep in mind that this card is not a credit card, it has be purchased through the Student Advantage website.
