    The Jackie Robinson Foundation is a public organization, which is a nonprofit national organization. This organization was designed to help students who are in the most need. This scholarship provides over $ 7500 a year to young people wanting to make a better life for themselves by furthering their education. In 1973, the wife of famed baseball legend Jackie Robinson started the Jackie Robinson Foundation. This foundation offers scholarships for students who wish to further their education. Like most other scholarships there are requirements for eligibility. To be eligible for the Jackie Robinson Scholarship students must

    · Be a High School Senior and they must be accepted to a 4 year accredited College or University. · You must be a minority student and be a citizen of the United States · You must show a high academic achievement and you must be able to prove that you need financial need · You must also show some leadership potential and some interest in their communities.

    You must be a high school senior and you must be attending or enrolled in a College or University located in the United States. The College may be either a private or public institution. There may be some confusion but you must be a citizen of the United States, those students who have a permanent residence are not eligible to apply.

    Just like any other scholarship the Jackie Robinson Scholarship must be completed 100% if you want to be eligible. According to the Jackie Robinson Scholarship Foundation a complete application requires that you have submitted the application online. You must have your High School Transcripts and at least one letter of recommendation. You must also have your official scores on the SAT or the ACT and one personal essay. If you are missing just one of these items them your application may be considered incomplete.

    You may not fax or send an email for your application. It must be submitted via the downloaded application through the mail at this address:

    There have been over 1200 students from over 43 states and Washington D.C who have benefited from these scholarships. There have been $ 18 million in scholarship. Students who have been awarded these scholarships have a 97% graduation rate. There are over 100 different corporation, foundation and even individuals who support the Jackie Robinson Foundation. Some of these supporters include General Electric, Goldman Sachs, the Los Angeles Dodgers, Major League Baseball, Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg and New York University just to name a few.

    Scholarships are designed to help students with the financial help that they need in order to start their College Education. The Jackie Robinson Foundation goes that extra mile to help minority students who may not have the means to go to College but they have the drive and the potential for greatness. That is why the Jackie Robinson Foundation is a very important part of the world, not every one is willing to give students a chance but this foundation is doing some really great things for some very special students.
