Accounting Scholarships For Women

If you are planning a career in the Accounting field, there are some scholarships programs that you may not know exist. College can be very costly and if you are looking for a ways to pay for College and not have to pay it back then scholarships are the way to go. We have put together a list of scholarships that you can apply for to help offset the cost of College. Sure, there are plenty of scholarships out there but these are geared towards women. National Society of Accountants: These scholarships are given up to 30 times a year. These are geared towards students who are majoring in Accounting and you must have a grade of B or better. These scholarships are for students who are already enrolled in College, if you are already a High School Student you will have to wait until you are in College to apply. These scholarships are for United States or Canadian Students that are enrolled in a United States College or Business School.

The Educational Foundation For Women in Accounting: This scholarship comes in three different categories. The first is called the Laurels Fund; this is a oneyear academic scholarship for women students who are studying for their PhD in Accounting. The amount of this award is between $ 1000 to $ 5000 each. The second is the Women on Transition; this scholarship was set up for women who want to go back to school to get their Bachelor’s Degree. This award can be renewed every year but you have to have a satisfactory grade and complete your course requirements. The third award is the Women in Need Scholarships; these are women who are in their 3rd through 5th year of school. This award is for students who are in a real need for financial help. This is a 2 year scholarship and it is a $ 2000 a renewable scholarships.

American Society of Women Accountants: These scholarships are created for women who are enrolled in school either full or part time. They must be enrolled in a Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. The applicant must have 60 semester hours or 90quarter hours completed. The school must be an accredited college, professional school or university.

National Association of Black Accountants: This scholarship is for ethnic minority students. These students must be enrolled as a full time student or have 12 semester hours or the equivalent. These applicants must have a minimum of grade point average of 2.5.

There are all different college scholarships out there for Accounting Students. You can find them online or talk to your High School Guidance Counselor; they can point you in the right direction. All it takes is a bit of hard work and some persistence in locating these scholarships. These scholarships are out there, you just have to look.
