What Positions Are Available In The Marine Corps?

There are so many ways to serve your country under the Marines; they have three separate sections in the Marine Corps. The Ground Positions, Air Positions and the Law Positions. After you complete recruiter training, you may be able to choose from any of these three sections. The Ground Positions will provide leading ground operations to help support the overall mission of the task at hand. The ground officers need to show extraordinary commitments, physical strength and a willingness to go into combat. Some of the positions of the Ground Support are the Armor Officer, Artillery Officer, Ground Supply Officer, Military Police Officer and Combat Engineer just to name a few.

Air Positions have three positions available the Fixed Wing Pilot, Rotary Wing and Tilt Rotor Pilot and the Naval Flight Officer. The Fixed Wing Pilot allows you to fly the AV8B Harrier, the F/A –18 Hornet, the EA6B Prowler or the KC130 Hercules. The Rotary Wing and Tilt Rotor Pilot gives you the opportunity to fly a CH46 Sea Knight or the CH53 Sea Stallion, a UH1 Huey and the AH1 Super Cobra.

As a member of the Air Crew you will be ready to provide offensive air support, anti air warfare, assault support and air reconnaissance. The Air Support offers electronic warfare and control of aircrafts and missiles. It takes someone with a total commitment to join the Air Support. Then there is the Law Support in the Marines. There is just one position and that is the Judge Advocate, these advocates can help serve in International, Criminal, Environmental, Fiscal, Contract Labor, Family, Claims, Torts and Litigation.

Choosing a position in the Marines can make a huge difference in your career. It is a life changing opportunity. If you are not committed to give your all to any of these Marine opportunities then you should reconsider what path you want to take in life. By joining the Marines you are not only taking on a huge responsibility for yourself but for the lives of the others well. Sometimes when you take into consideration that you have a full team behind you and that they have to look after you as well as you them joining the Marines takes on a whole new meaning.

This is why it is important to sit down with a Marine Corps recruiter and find out everything you can about what life is like in the Marines. Finding out about housing and salary can play a part in your decision but what comes after recruiter training should be where your concern lies. Ask questions about training and what happens after. Find out what happens if you go through training and find out that the Corps is not for you.




If you feel more comfortable, ask your parents to go with you to the recruiter and have them ask the tougher questions which they would anyway because it is there job to protect you and look after your best interest.
