    One of the great benefits of joining the Army is their dedication to your education. The Army believes in the education of their soldiers and they stand behind them 100%. If you are looking for a way to go to college and serve your country then the Army can help you succeed. They will also assist you in paying off any existing student loans that you may already have. It is a winwin situation as far as paying for your education goes. There are some great programs that the Army offers in way of paying for your education. Let’s take a look.

    Montgomery GI Bill and Army College Fund: This is a great program to sign up for. Some of the funding will depend on how much time you enlist for and the type of job that you want, you can actually earn up to $ 80,000 plus just to help you pay for College. The idea is that you pay in $ 100 a month during your first year in the Army. The after the first year you will be eligible for these grants.

    Army Reserves: If you choose to join the Army Reserves rather than full time enrollment in the Army, you could be eligible fro a Reserve Montgomery GI Bill worth up to $ 11,844.00. If you qualify for a critical skill position on the Reserves then you could end up receiving what they call a MGIB Kicker. The Army Reserve benefit is up to $ 24,444 to help you pay for College.

    The Post 9/11 GI Bill: This bill is basically for soldiers who have served a full 90 days on or after September 11,2001. This bill offers up to 36 months on benefits for education at a college or university. This bill covers tuition, fees, books, a monthly living allowance and even school supplies. The great part about this bill is that it can be transferred to a spouse or children of the soldier.

    Active Duty Benefit: You can receive up to $ 65,000 for Soldiers who have enlisted in the Army for a time of three years and more. The Army Reserve Benefit has up to $ 20,000 for Soldiers who enlist for 6 years.

    There are also College Loan Repayment Programs, on the GoArmy.com website there is a link to benefits, click on benefits and choose education on the bottom of the page you will find a link to email the Army to see if your student loan qualifies, there is no obligation to join up right there. The Army can provide some great opportunities like getting an education and seeing the world for a more expanded life education.

    There are not too many opportunities out there that will offer a paycheck in addition to help you get the education that you need. Joining the Army is a huge life changing decision; this is something that you should weigh all of your options before making a decision. The Army is not for everyone and once you sign up it is not as simple as saying this isn’t for me.

    Talk to your family and see what they think and then talk to an Army Recruiter and find out everything you can about the Army before you do anything. The Army is a great opportunity but make sure that it right for you.
