Paintball Shooting. Which is better, Speedball or Woods?Related ArticlesWhich is better, Speedball or Woods? This is the neverending debate brought up by Paintballers all over the world. What's the difference, you ask? Allow me to explain.
Speedball is a large open feild with bunkers (pallets and boxes and other things that create a small barrier) scattered all over the place. Spreading up to 75 yards in a square, it takes skill and speed to move from one "bunker" to another. Many people shoot many paintballs during this game, rather than taking the time to aim.
Woods Ball. A dense wooded area with much cover and obstacles. You would not be able to run around very well in the woods, and sometimes shooting can be a very difficult thing to do. People take their time to aim and make hits count before their positions are compromised.
So which is more fun? Well, it depends on the player. One may love to run from bunker to bunker blasting up the entire feild with hundreds of rounds of paintballs, while others like to sneak up and down the battlefield, popping out only when necessary to fire that one fatal shot. It is up to the player. Speedball teams normally don't do as well in the Wooded areas, and the Woods teams arn't usually as affective on the Speedball Feilds.
Some types of guns that would be effective on Speedball fields would be the electronic guns. Smart Parts' Impulse, Smart Parts' Shocker, WGP Auto****ers, Angels, and other fast, efficient electronic markers.
Different types of guns are better on Woods Fields. Guns such as Tippman's procarbine, 68carbine, model 98, and 98 custom would be very good guns to use in a heavily wooded area.
If you want good paintballs, you should look at RPS Sheridan, Marbelizers, and PMI Paintballs. Varying from store to store, cases of paint, normally 2,000 rounds, cost anywhere from $55.00 to $75.00.
Regardless of whether you decide you like woods ball or Speedball, You will always find paintball a facinating and huge sport. It is the Number 1 Fastest growing sport in the World, and you can contribute just by having fun.
