Do you ever chat online, to your friends, family, or strangers? The internet is a wonderful place to talk to people all around the world and to do much more. But don't you ever get tired of people saying you are cute because you showed them your picture? Don't you hate when people say they love you and they don't even know your last name? If you don't know them and they say they love you, you should know right there that they don't mean it. Love is a strong word and should be used only at the right time and to someone special. Although you may think it's different on the internet because everyone says it, some people still do take the word seriously. Did you ever think you had a good relationship on the internet and it didn't work out?

Here is a story: I use to live in Ontario, Canada along with my mom. She met a guy on the internet and a couple of months later they got married. My mom and I then moved to Easton PA USA where he lived. Lucky for us he was a normal guy and not a psycho like some people on the net. My friends and family still live in Ontario so I go visit quiet often. About six months ago I went down to visit and spend time with my friends. I stayed at my best friend's girlfriend's house where I was introduced to a girl. We just clicked right away. So we talked for a while and exchanged EMails.

I started falling for her. When I came back home we talked on the internet almost everyday. I went down to visit on a weekend of my Thanksgiving break. I knew I woould not be going back for Christmas so I bought her presents early. We spent a lot of time together. Then I had to come back home in Easton PA after my vacation was over. It really sucked, I missed her a lot. I e
mailed her telling her how much of a great time I had and that I like her a lot. I told her that I didn't think we could hook up at this time because I live so far but am trying my best to move back. She emailed me back telling me that she also had a great time but she likes someone else. That was ok by me because I knew we were not going out. It hurt inside, however, that I couldn't have her because I live so far. I will always remember her and I might move back some day.

Not every girl or boy, however, will be as honest as she was. Just knowing a person on the internet doesn't mean you know anything about that person. They could be the opposite of what you expect, they could be lying really easilly. If you talk to someone online and you really get to know that person you could still have a good relationship with them. As you probably know: it is hard but it could happen. So if you want to talk to someone online and be able to trust them and talk to them about anything, just be friends.
