School of Rock - Rocks!

For those of you who have not yet been exposed to the talents of Jack Black, beware, because School of Rock hits hard and it’s by far one of the funniest movies out there this year. For those who might be "too tough" to see a kids movie, or people who can’t appreciate the lineage of great rock history even if they don’t really listen to it, this movie may not be for you. But for people who can rock hard, and are willing to let the simple plot slide and appreciate incredible acting and storytelling ability, get your tickets now. The story is basic, Jack Black is kicked out of his band and looking for work, when he answers a call pretending to be his roommate, he finds himself teaching as a substitute in one of the city’s most prestigious schools. He is put in the obvious position of knowing nothing about everyday class subjects, and assigns recess for the entire class until he learns his students are musically talented, of course this ingnites his idea for the new class project rock band. In actual fact, several of the students in the movie were scouted based on actual music ability, Zak the lead guitarist was scouted at his band camp and offered the role. The drummer and singers, are all legitmate as well, including all of the gear used in the film. Jack Black is playing the same guitar as Angus from AC/DC, and take note of additional pro audio gear and rare cd’s with original covers. All in all, this movie gets away with the impossible. No swearing, no trick endings, no waking up from dreams, no aliens, no bombs, no drugs, car chases or terrible top 40 pop hits. If a movie can still be a great movie without all of that crap in the way it’s a must see.
