A little philosophy for the massesRelated ArticlesPhilosophy has become but a rarity in today's labyrinthian society. People don't take the time to read anymore, and it shows. Television has replaced books and reading is becoming more of a task than an activity. Knowledge is in great supply, but it will go to waste if there is no one to take it.
I'm here to give a little insight into the world of knowledge. A little philosophy gets the mind working, and for many, it influences them to read and learn.
People are always thinking, always pondering over things, some deeper than others, however. Some people think of what they are going to do tonight and what they will do after they're out of school. While, some people ponder over the universe, religion, and life. The latter are usually, not always, people that read. Their minds are more stimulated for deep thought.
For example, what is fate? When you think of fate, what do you think of? That fate is a plan for your life to follow? That your life is predetermined? Well, you see, that is a common belief, what about the uncommon thoughts? I've written a little piece on this. Read this and think about it for a while, let your mind wander and take everything in.
"Fate. There are the people who believe that fate is nothing more than a musing of one’s mind, while others firmly believe that life is set out for you. Yes and no. Everyone is all a part of life's integral archetype, and since we are human, we have free will. We have the free will to do whatever we want, to express ourselves in any way, and to believe in any faith of our own choosing, but is life all preprogrammed in one large, elaborate map? Once again, yes and no; since we have the free will to make whatever decisions we please, we can pick and choose our consequences. Then, what happens afterwards is either determined by your decision or will lead to yet more decisions, enough so that your life is not planned out, but what happens as a result of the decisions you make, is. You may say that it has to be planned out, that everything comes to an end, right? Well, this is not completely true. Since all things begin or end in another thing's existence on this plane, the fragile fabric of life is interwoven through itself and it shall never completely end. Completed and intertwined with a continuum of time and space, life will go on forever, as long as there is the will to live. And since time is limitless and there will always be the will for things to live and create, an eternity cannot be predetermined, and fate is only determined as time passes."
Just remember, that once you share the ideas, people are going to agree and people are going to disagree, don’t fear criticism, it is all a part of reading/writing. I’ve seen my girlfriend get accused of being a cultist for reading Urantia, and I get flak for writing opinions on life, because I am nonreligious. Don’t worry about it, you are expressing an opinion and everyone else has the right to do so as well.
I would like to simply encourage more people to read, write, and/or think deeper. The world truly needs it. I’m not saying that the world is just full of stupid people; there are many very smart people who just don’t apply themselves. Do something for yourself and form some views on life, and write them down.
