Judgement - What is Goth?

What is goth? Some people think that goth is music like manson or canibal corpse. These are not goth bands at all. Those bands are very much so death metal. There is a fine line between goth and Death metal. Most goth music is calm and mellow. Some of the original goth bands are The Cure, Bauhause, The Chameleons etc. If you listen to these bands you will notice they are not anything like Manson.

Society has made is seem that goth is just black clothes and scary clothes. But it's more of angst. Just because you wear all black and eyeliner doesnt make you goth. Goth is a mind set and a lifestyle. You can be goth and wear all pink if you wanted as long as your mind is in the right place.

There are certian things that go to goth that people dont know about becase they let the media tell them what is and what isnt. Goth is more of a hate for society and the stupidity of humanity than black clothes and makeup. Most people mix up bands like canibal corpse with goth becase of the anger. Sure goths have alot of anger the humanity but that doesnt mean they listen to slipknot to get their anger out. You can listen to calm music to mellow you out too. But if you think manson is still a goth band, you have alot to learn.

Many people get confused with the anchk, the symbol hanging around most goths necks. Even some "goths" dont know what it is. The anchk is the egyption symbol for life. I bet you that if some goths learnd this they would stop wearing it, i mean what goth would want a symbol of life on their neck?

Most goth things come from the egytians. For example, the egytian men wore a sort of eyeliner back then. The thing with coffins, the egytions were one of the first to really use coffins is a sacred way. Many egyptian tings are brought into play in the goth society. The egytians praised black cats. keep in mind that the cats were black. Maybe thats where black comes into play?
